Tool Caddy - Sewing Basics 2 of 2

Make a simple Tool Caddy while reviewing the basic skills of - Measuring, Cutting Marking and Stitching. This is a fun tool caddy made from home decor fabrics to make it durable. Many pockets of different sizes allows you to store a variety of sewing tools, It can also be used for other makers tools if desired. All materials provided - we have a unique collection of remnants from home projects.

You do not have to be registered in our certification class to make this project.
Project consists of 2 sessions and may require homework.

Garments & Garments - Learn to sew with commercial patterns. Participants sign up for a 6 week block of classes (if you miss a week you can make them up). Re sign up for as many 6 week blocks as you want as you continue to grow your skills..

Class covers;
* pattern & fabric selection
* proper garment sizing
* pattern layout and instructions tips
* cutting marking and more

You will select and bring a pattern to sew based on your skill set. Wait to purchase pattern until after first class.
Fabric selection can be from our stash or bring your own.
Then construct your garment with step by step mentor ship by instructors.
This class contains students at different levels of sewing skills. This allows you to see many different types of garment construction - learning from each others challenges.

This course is NOT a job skills certification course but give you complete information to be successful with garment sewing.

Sew-a-palooza Saturday give you the opportunity to get some sewing done while making a fun project.

Join us to make a fun and functional denim wanderlust field bag with inside pockets. This was inspired by a field bag for knitting but you could use it for any craft on the go. You will be re-purposing denim samples from Lee jeans. This unique bag has so many uses with simple closures and trims. You will choices of different denims and you can add unique patches to make it your own.

Are you interested in learning to sew in order to produce a line of products or you want a job in sewing manufacturing and you need to build your skills. In the Sewing Labs - Sewing Salon program you will learn the art of sewing while working on "live" projects. * You will learn some tricks to make pattern transfer easy & learn how to use pre-printed designs
* All materials provided
Brenda Daily, your instructor has been stitching for years. She will share many samples of different projects that can be enhanced with embroidery.
The class is held weekly - come for 1 week or come weekly to build your stitch library and skills.

We want you to volunteer at The Sewing Labs!
This is a one session orientation training which will give you an overview of the mission of The Sewing Labs and how you can serve as a volunteer.
Orientation will cover;the mission of TSL, the opportunities for volunteers from the classroom to community to boardroom, rules of operation and safety precautions for everyone in the program and more. We want you to do what you heart & hands love.
Even if you are just interested in finding out more before deciding to volunteer this is a great opportunity to explore what The Sewing Labs is all about.
All of our volunteers are expected to go thru an orientation within the first 90 days of service Pre-registration is requested.

Serger Basics consists of 2 sessions This class covers basic serger sewing. Proper Threading and maintenance, thread tension and understanding serger features.
Participants of this class will create a workbook with samples of stitches, mastering curves on your serger, creating special hems and more.
